Holistic Social Media
Strategies.
Strategies.
You’ve seen bad social media strategies before.
Like when the agency presents a content calendar they whipped up with ChatGPT.
Or when their presentation says they’ll help you ‘drive leads and build your brand’ … without ever clarifying how.
We have too.
It’s why all our strategies have 3 things in common – while still being built from the ground up for every client:
- Each one is part of a holistic marketing strategy. Social media should never be approached in isolation.
- Each one includes a clear rationale – our diagnosis of the challenges you face and our proposed solution.
- Each one includes a tactical implementation plan. We don’t make promises without a path to execution.

Social Media for
Gold Coast Businesses.
Gold Coast Businesses.
Social media isn’t just for e-commerce brands or mass-market B2C products.
It can work for service businesses too – including in regulated industries like law, financial services, and healthcare.
But it needs to be approached in the right way.
You need boldness, because standing out in service sectors can be hard.
And, often, that boldness needs to be tempered by compliance – knowing how to stay on the right side of standards like RG 234 and the ASCR.
Don’t cede platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook to competitors.
Find out how we can help your Gold Coast service business leverage social media effectively.
Gold Coast Social Media
Advertising.
Advertising.
Poor-fit objectives.
Shotgun targeting.
AI-spun creative.
We’ve seen all the mistakes other Gold Coast social media agencies make when they run Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram advertising.
And we know where they lead: thousands in ad spend burned with almost no return to show for it.
That’s why we work backwards from the things that matter most – your business objectives, your ideal customers, and your overall marketing strategy.
And it’s why we never approach paid social in isolation.
Everything – from your organic presence to your website landing pages – is crafted to deliver more high-intent leads and more revenue.

Our Process.
01
Initial Consultation.
Book a meeting with one of our marketing strategists to talk through your business objectives, current marketing environment, and key challenges.
We can talk by phone, on a video call, or in person at our Gold Coast office or yours – whatever suits you best.
02
Proposal.
After our initial meeting, we draft a proposal with pricing and timelines.
Unlike many agencies, our holistic marketing approach may involve evaluating your choice of marketing channels. For example, if you ask us to run Facebook ads, we’ll first confirm it’s the best use of your budget.
Clients often seek help with specific tactics but ultimately want outcomes like more leads or revenue. Our role is to ensure your strategy and tactics align with those goals.
03
Onboarding & Discovery.
If you think we’re the right digital marketing agency for your brand, we begin the onboarding process once you’ve signed a service agreement.
(Unlike other Gold Coast social media agencies, our agreement will formalise our KPIs and service-level obligations – we think you deserve better than handshake promises.)
Our discovery process typically includes one or more meetings where we gather details about your business, industry, ideal customers, and products/services.
04
Strategy Formation.
Once we understand what you do and who you do it for, we draft a detailed strategy that, depending on the scope of your engagement, includes everything from channel recommendations to messaging changes.
05
Implementation Planning.
After you’ve approved your new strategy, we map out the gritty details – things like cost planning, implementation scheduling, roles, responsibilities, and reporting mechanisms.
06
Implementation.
We begin executing your strategy.
That includes regular reporting (in line with your SLA and implementation plan) and coordination with you and your team as needed.
07
Measurement & Adjustments.
We review your strategy’s success at pre-determined intervals – which, for many businesses, means every quarter.
Based on leading and lagging indicators like high-intent leads and marketing ROI, we suggest adjustments to maximise your strategy’s outcomes.

Why Us?
We’re more than a social media marketing agency. We’re the architects of your brand’s future.
Holistic Approach.
When we build your brand’s strategy, we look at the whole house, not just each room.
That means a holistic approach centred on your business goals – using whatever digital channels work best.
Digital Pioneers.
We’ve been blazing a path through digital landscapes since 2000.
That experience is reflected in deep social capabilities across every platform from LinkedIn to Pinterest.
Australian-Made.
Our social media marketers work from our office on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
We understand Australian audiences and know how to stay compliant in regulated industries.
Gold Coast Social Media FAQs.
What platforms does iOnline manage for social media marketing?
We work with all social media platforms. That includes major platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, WeChat and Snapchat, hybrid search-and-social platforms like YouTube, and emerging platforms like Threads and Bluesky. We can also help you run advertising on social-adjacent channels like WhatsApp and Quora.
How does social media management help generate leads?
Organic social media helps generate leads through:
- content creation, which means creating posts, videos, and other forms of content that add value for users and help them progress through their buying journeys.
- brand awareness and affinity via community-building, which means users will be more likely to think of and choose your brand when they’re ready to buy.
- social selling, which means using the social capital you’ve built up with your community to (infrequently) pitch your products and services (you create social capital via good community-building and content creation).
Paid social works slightly differently. You can use it as an accelerant – that is, a way to get your organic content seen by more of your ideal customers.
But you can also leverage the highly granular targeting of Meta and LinkedIn Ads to advertise directly to people who are ready to buy (that is, they’re in the process of comparing vendors). Think about when you see ads for something after talking about it with friends or visiting the brand’s website. That’s the result of retargeting or lookalike campaigns – both of which are excellent ways to drive high-intent leads.
I’ve spent thousands on social ads that did nothing. Why should I trust you?
When your budget gets blown by an ineffective social media agency, it’s tempting to blame the creative – the text and the visuals. (And sometimes it is the creative.) Normally, though, the issue is strategic. Maybe your agency ran with the wrong messaging. Maybe your ideal customers aren’t even active on that social channel. Or maybe it was a timing mistake, like running a B2B campaign in June, when most Gold Coast business owners are too busy preparing for EOFY to think about a major business partnership.
It’s impossible to tell what went wrong unless we look at your past campaign (and we’re happy to do that in one of our free consultations). But the fact that we’re offering nuance instead of an easy answer like ‘We’re not just another social media agency. We’re creative!’ should be a green flag.
And, if you’re someone who likes details, here’s a list of our hard differences:
- We believe in an integrated, holistic approach to marketing. That means all channels unified under a single strategy, supporting and enhancing each other – no silos or disconnected messaging.
- We’re digital pioneers who’ve been operating for 24+ years. We know how people engage with online ads.
- We believe in bold over bland. We like calculated risks because that’s how you stand out on saturated platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn.
- We’re actually based on the Gold Coast. Feel free to visit our Nerang office for a coffee and a chat.
- We have in-house social media specialists. We don’t outsource offshore or get interns to manage your accounts.
- We have clear contracts with hard business KPIs – no handshake promises, vanity metrics, or loopholes.
- We’re accountable for lead quality, not just quantity. We won’t drive a bunch of poor-fit leads that don’t close to your website and consider our ad campaign a success.
- We’re a strategic growth partner. That means we do deep research into you, your ideal customers, and your industry. We don’t do checkbox marketing or cut-and-paste playbooks.
How is working with iOnline different from managing social media internally?
The ‘agency or employee’ question isn’t an easy one. There’s a place for both roles and choosing the right one depends on your individual circumstances. With that said, here are 6 good reasons to think about working with us over hiring a dedicated social media marketer.
- As a full-service agency, we can manage more than your social media strategy. We believe that marketing should be integrated – that is, all channels unified under one cohesive strategy. If you work with us, we can help you improve all aspects of your marketing and comms (including product marketing and brand development).
- We aren’t an outsourced services provider. We’re a business growth partner that brings our unique marketing philosophy and over 24 years of institutional knowledge to the table.
- We manage more than [X] social accounts. That gives us access to proprietary insights that internal social media marketers can’t get, no matter how good they are. It also means we can solve most technical problems quickly because we’ve probably encountered them before.
- We have robust SOPs and a streamlined onboarding process. We’ll start effective work on your social media immediately; most employees will take a month or more to ramp up to full productivity.
- Our costs and obligations are explicitly defined in our service agreement with you. Employees, by contrast, typically have multiple unproductive hours per day that you pay for – as well as ancillary costs like superannuation, hardware and software, and worker’s compensation insurance.
- If we don’t meet our contractual obligations, you can end your agreement with us and easily retain another agency. Firing an employee for underperformance, on the other hand, is a complex, delicate, and emotionally draining process that can lead to legal claims. It’s also often time-consuming and expensive to hire someone new.
How much does a social media marketing agency cost?
An average social media marketing agency on the Gold Coast will charge around $1,500–$2,000 per month to manage and create content for 2 social media accounts. That typically includes 3–4 posts per week (using provided images/videos or templated graphics) and a monthly meeting/report. Better agencies will also include a scheduled amount of community engagement per week, which can include responding to comments and posting comments on relevant accounts.
Is social media marketing worth it?
Yes, social media platforms can be ‘worth it’ as marketing and community-building channels. To work out which social media platforms (if any) are right for your business, think about the following questions:
- Which online spaces do my ideal customers spend time in?
- How do they use their preferred social media platforms? For research? For entertainment? For connection?
- Which leading indicators should I track? (Leading indicators are early signs that a platform is starting to work for you.)
- How do I track where my leads are coming from? (Lead attribution tells you which platforms are working.)
- How do I track where my revenue is coming from? (Not all leads are created equal. Revenue attribution lets you see which platforms are delivering the most value for your business.)
Digital marketing is exactly what it sounds like: marketing that takes place in digital environments. Specifically, that means:
- creating messaging for your products/services, including category creation
- providing pricing and discounting advice
- identifying best-fit digital marketing channels such as organic search (SEO), paid search (like Google Ads), organic and paid social (like LinkedIn and Facebook), email, influencers and thought leaders, e-commerce platforms (like Amazon), and third-party media
- educating your ideal customers about the problem you solve, your product/service category, and your brand’s products/services using the channels previously identified.
If that sounds like a lot, it is. Some people think marketing is the ‘arts and crafts’ department, that all digital marketing agencies do is create websites and pretty graphics. Statements like that couldn’t be further from the truth. Marketing is an essential part of literally every business (without some form of marketing, you won’t have any revenue) – and, in a digitally native world, digital marketing is especially crucial.
How much does it cost to advertise on social media for small businesses?
There’s no fixed cost for social media advertising. How much you decide to spend varies on the platform, your advertising strategy, the type of ads you’re running, and the length of time you want them to run for.
The best way to gauge the cost of social media for your business is to approach several social media marketing agencies, tell them your business and marketing objectives, and see what timelines and cost estimates each one provides. Keep in mind that a specific social media channel may not be the best way to accomplish your business and marketing goals – be open to the idea of a different platform (or even allocating your marketing budget to non-social channels).
