Social Media Strategies.
Social Media Strategies.
You don’t need a social media strategy.
You need an integrated marketing strategy that includes social media.
That means the same messaging rolled out across every channel – one cohesive experience for your ideal customers, no matter where they encounter your brand.
Maybe that looks like precisely targeted Meta Ads that drive leads to your site.
Or thought leader posts on LinkedIn that reach C-suite executives.
Or a tight-knit community that loves your brand and is willing to buy when you need them to.
Find out how our bespoke strategies can help your brand thrive on any social media platform.
Social Media Management.
You’ve done your research and you know which platforms your ideal buyers use.
You’ve established and optimised profiles for your brand.
But the content you’ve published doesn’t seem to be working.
Hours of effort, a clever hook, all the best practices followed … and your post flops limply into the void.
So you need a social media marketing agency, a partner that knows how algorithms and humans work, what content delivers and what doesn’t, and how you can use social platforms to drive real results.
That’s us.
Ask how we can help execute your social strategy with regular, high-quality posting, a zero-click philosophy, and an engagement approach that keeps your brand top of mind.
Meta, LinkedIn & TikTok Ads.
Traditional social media ads focus on driving your audience off-platform to your website.
And sometimes that’s the right approach.
But ads don’t always have to equal instant conversions.
Because the truth is that many of your ideal customers won’t be ready to buy right now.
Ads can also be a way to seed demand, to educate and entertain and inspire, to build brand awareness so that when your audience is ready, they’ll think of you first.
When you choose a social media marketing agency, find one that understands both uses – and knows how to balance them under a high-performing social strategy.
An agency that doesn’t rely on stale tactics from 10 years ago.
An agency that blends frontier thinking with field-tested first principles.
An agency like us.
Community-Building.
‘Community’ isn’t a business buzzword.
It’s a real concept that brands of all sizes can leverage.
And social media is the natural home of online communities – platforms where people with shared interests and ideas can connect around brands they like.
Some communities develop organically.
But most need to be shaped and nurtured, grown into a form that supports your business objectives.
That’s where we can help.
We know how to design resilient communities across platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn – beacons that draw people to your brand, increase mindshare, and improve loyalty.
Ask us how community-building can become a key part of your overall business strategy.

Marketing FAQs.
What platforms does iOnline manage for social media marketing?
We work with all social media platforms. That includes major platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, WeChat and Snapchat, hybrid search-and-social platforms like YouTube, and emerging platforms like Threads and Bluesky. We can also help you run advertising on social-adjacent channels like WhatsApp and Quora.
How does social media management help generate leads?
Organic social media helps generate leads through:
- content creation, which means creating posts, videos, and other forms of content that add value for users and help them progress through their buying journeys
- brand awareness and affinity via community-building , which means users will be more likely to think of and choose your brand when they’re ready to buy
- social selling, which means using the social capital you’ve built up with your community to (infrequently) pitch your products and services (you create social capital via good community-building and content creation).
Paid social works slightly differently. You can use it as an accelerant – that is, a way to get your organic content seen by more of your ideal customers.
But you can also leverage the highly granular targeting of Meta and LinkedIn Ads to advertise directly to people who are ready to buy (that is, they’re in the process of comparing vendors). Think about when you see ads for something after talking about it with friends or visiting the brand’s website. That’s the result of retargeting or lookalike campaigns – both of which are excellent ways to drive high-intent leads.
How do you measure the ROI of social media campaigns?
Measuring the ROI of any marketing campaign is generally a bad idea. Why? Because it’s incredibly difficult to see where cause and effect start and end.
Did the campaign drive that lead to enquire … or was it just the final push after months of that lead being part of your social community? Did that lead find your website via SEO … or did they Google you after seeing your social campaign? And when do you draw the line for measurement? Do you stop attributing leads to the campaign as soon as it’s finished? A week after? A month?
There are no good answers to those questions, and trying to measure a campaign’s ROI will, inevitably, result in a false metric that skews your decision-making. A better option is to measure the success of your social media program as a whole using hybrid attribution – that is, a combination of software-based tracking and asking leads ‘how did you hear about us?’. It’s a reliable way to gauge the kind of impact a channel is having.
But measuring ROI at a channel level still isn’t appropriate, especially if you’re running an integrated marketing strategy. There’s too much interplay between channels to point at a specific one and claim that $X investment equals $Y return. Instead, you should measure the ROI of your aggregated marketing efforts. Ideally, you’ll have one person (a CMO or Head of Marketing) or one agency (like us) who’s accountable for the whole function – they can then deploy resources to get the best possible ROI, while being guided by more granular metrics like channel-specific attribution and the ROAS of individual campaigns.
How is working with iOnline different from managing social media internally?
The ‘agency or employee’ question isn’t an easy one. There’s a place for both roles, and choosing the right one depends on your individual circumstances. With that said, here are 6 good reasons to think about working with us over hiring a dedicated social media marketer.
- As a full-service agency, we can manage more than your social media strategy. We believe that marketing should be integrated – that is, all channels unified under one cohesive strategy. If you work with us, we can help you improve all aspects of your marketing and comms (including product marketing and brand development).
- We aren’t an outsourced services provider. We’re a business growth partner that brings our unique marketing philosophy and over 24 years of institutional knowledge to the table.
- We manage multiple social accounts. That gives us access to proprietary insights that internal social media marketers can’t get, no matter how good they are. It also means we can solve most technical problems quickly because we’ve probably encountered them before.
- We have robust SOPs and a streamlined onboarding process. We’ll start effective work on your social media immediately; most employees will take a month or more to ramp up to full productivity.
- Our costs and obligations are explicitly defined in our service agreement with you. Employees, by contrast, typically have multiple unproductive hours per day that you pay for – as well as ancillary costs like superannuation, hardware and software, and worker’s compensation insurance.
- If we don’t meet our contractual obligations, you can end your agreement with us and easily retain another agency. Firing an employee for underperformance, on the other hand, is a complex, delicate, and emotionally draining process that can lead to legal claims. It’s also often time-consuming and expensive to hire someone new.
How much does a social media marketing agency cost?
An average social media marketing agency in Australia will charge around $1,500–$2,000 per month to manage and create content for 2 social media accounts. That typically includes 3–4 posts per week (using provided images/videos or templated graphics) and a monthly meeting/report. Better agencies will also include a scheduled amount of community engagement per week, which can include responding to comments and posting comments on relevant accounts.
Is social media marketing worth it?
Yes, social media platforms can be ‘worth it’ as marketing and community-building channels. To work out which social media platforms (if any) are right for your business, think about the following questions:
- Which online spaces do my ideal customers spend time in?
- How do they use their preferred social media platforms? For research? For entertainment? For connection?
- Which leading indicators should I track? (Leading indicators are early signs that a platform is starting to work for you.)
- How do I track where my leads are coming from? (Lead attribution tells you which platforms are working.)
- How do I track where my revenue is coming from? (Not all leads are created equal. Revenue attribution lets you see which platforms are delivering the most value for your business.)
How much does it cost to advertise on social media for small businesses?
There’s no fixed cost for social media advertising. How much you decide to spend varies on the platform, your advertising strategy, the type of ads you’re running, and the length of time you want them to run for.
The best way to gauge the cost of social media for your business is to approach several social media marketing agencies, tell them your business and marketing objectives, and see what timelines and cost estimates each one provides. Keep in mind that a specific social media channel may not be the best way to accomplish your business and marketing goals – be open to the idea of a different platform (or even allocating your marketing budget to non-social channels).
