SEO Strategist
Jessica (Jess) Deacon is iOnline’s SEO strategist. She develops organic search strategies for clients and guides their implementation across channels like Google, Bing, and ChatGPT.
Jess joined iOnline in 2018 as part of a larger SEO team. Today, she leads the company’s organic search function, a role that encompasses both traditional SEO and website project management.
Her practice focuses on the fundamentals: high-quality content delivered on a strong technical foundation. SEO is often painted as a complicated science. In reality, it’s as simple – and as difficult – as giving searchers the information they need in a format that search engines can understand.
That same technical expertise means Jess often acts as iOnline’s resident problem-solver. During 2024 and 2025, she spearheaded the company’s transition to Zoho Workplace – an initiative that included importing more than 20 years of non-standardised data into a fully featured CRM.
Outside of the office, Jess spends her time gaming, attending music festivals, and camping with friends. She holds a Certificate III in Business, a Certificate III in Hospitality, and a Certificate I in Information, Digital Media, and Technology.
SEO isn’t black magic.
Like all marketing, it starts with your business.
Who do you serve? How do you help them? What makes you better?

Digital PR is the new link-building.
Credible brand mentions matter more than random backlinks – both for LLMs and humans.
SEO equals search everywhere optimisation.
Your brand needs to be present wherever buyers search for information, including social media and voice search.
Keywords still matter.
Matching your language to your buyers’ language will always help your brand get found online.
