How much do your retainers cost?
Our retainers are all bespoke. That means we’ll talk to you about your brand’s needs, then formulate a monthly package that runs anywhere from 6 to 24 months. For many of our clients, retainers include front-loaded projects (such as a new website build) that’s amortised over a longer period in conjunction with ongoing work (such as SEO and Google Ads).
Generally, though, we recommend a monthly retainer budget of at least $2,000. If that doesn’t align with your current marketing budget, you might be better served with a standalone project (such as a new website) that you then manage internally.

How long does your onboarding take?
It depends how quickly you’re willing to move and what you want done. We can start standalone technical projects as soon as we have capacity in our project pipeline. (Get in touch to ask us when that currently is.)
Most of our clients engage us for longer-term, strategic partnerships. If that’s what your brand needs, we’ll normally have several pre-sales conversations to make sure we can deliver the outcomes you want at a price that matches your budget (and that you’re aligned with our marketing philosophy).
Once you’ve signed a retainer agreement, we’ll have a comprehensive discovery meeting. Our team will ask you questions about your ideal customers, your offerings, your current go-to-market motion, your marketing objectives, and much more.
We’ll then take that information and begin research. Once we’re confident we have a strong understanding of your vertical and ideal customers, we’ll architect a strategy and present it for your review. When you give us approval to move forward, we’ll begin implementation.
How do you build apps and software?
All our applications are built in-house by our Australian-based developers. Once you’ve explained what you want your app or middleware to do, we’ll work out the best and most cost-effective way to make that happen.
Sometimes, that can mean working with low-code builders to get something live quickly. In other cases, we’ll build completely custom applications using frameworks like Laravel and React Native. It’s how we’ve delivered everything from subscription health apps to business productivity software and online auction platforms.

What’s your stance on AI?
LLMs like ChatGPT are predictive text tools. They’re an amazing technology that are very useful for automating certain things – but not marketing and business strategy.
We never use AI for customer research, diagnosing problems, selecting channels, or any other high-level initiatives. Doing so would be borderline malpractice. Each one of those is dependent upon your business’s unique circumstances; an LLM just spits out the average of all the text it has available to it.
Our content and copy are also still written by our in-house specialists – not because we’re anti-AI, but because raw text isn’t what you pay us for. You pay us for outcomes, and the best way to get those is through differentiated, unique copy and content. The nature of an LLM means it can never deliver those.
